BEGINNER/INTERMEDIATE HORSEMANSHIP CAMPS
Riders in this camp enjoy riding and learning about horses through engaging exercises designed to develop skill while building confidence through knowledge!
As a horsemanship camp, it is designed to go beyond the fundamentals of just learning to ride. This camp will introduce the meaning of “horsemanship” to students, defined as “the care, training, and riding of horses in harmony with their behavior, diet, movement and physical being.” In addition to daily riding lessons, students will learn how we feed, care for and maintain horses. Games, crafts, team competitions, and prizes are incorporated to encourage learning and most of all fun with horses!
Eligibility Requirements:
- Ages 5 & up welcome!
- No prior experience necessary!
ADVANCED INTRODUCTION TO JUMPING WORKSHOP
Advanced Jumping Camp for Kids and Adults
This workshop will be an in-depth study of jumping, horsemanship, and show ring preparation, designed to prepare aspiring horseman and competitors for success in and out of the show ring. Students will spend 2 hours per day, riding in lessons focused on improving their overall riding and jumping technique. The remainder of their day will be spent in ground lessons covering behavior, training, and lunging, as well as proper care and show preparation. In addition to these lessons, students will learn about confirmation and movement and how it applies to performance. The goal of this intensive 5-day camp is to immerse students in the equine world through the eyes of trainers and competitors, giving them a baseline of knowledge and skills to prepare them to take the next step in their education.
This workshop is offered in two-part advanced series with a rolling curriculum. Students can plan to attend one or both of the workshops in this series, however attending both will help them to advance upon and solidify what they’ve learned, in addition, those attending both sessions will receive a special rate.
Eligibility Requirements:
- To be eligible students must be at the minimum, currently cantering poles in lessons.
